  • All-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt, I use Kosher salt.
  • For the dough coating: butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  • For the glaze: powdered sugar, dairy-free milk, and vanilla extract.

How to make monkey bread from scratch

  • Mix flour, sugar, and yeast in a large mixing bowl. Add the warm milk and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes or until it is smooth and elastic. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Grease a bundt pan or deep dish pie pan with vegan butter.
