  • 2 pounds fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • One cinnamon stick
  • One clove
  • One orange, zest, and juice

How to make cranberry sauce with orange juice and cinnamon

Put all the ingredients in the sauce pot over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves and the cranberries are cooked. It takes about 15 minutes to be ready; let it simmer but do not boil

This sauce has very little liquid, so it won’t benefit from boiling. Taste and adjust for seasoning; I like to taste when it cools down a bit, and the flavors get a chance to marry.

Tips to make the perfect sauce

  • For this recipe, you can use fresh or frozen cranberries. If you use frozen, you do not have to thaw them first.
  • I like a thick cranberry sauce, but if you prefer a looser version, add 1/4 cup water to the mix or more orange juice.
  • Serve in a shallow bowl at room temeprature
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge, it will last upto one month.
